Mini Reviews

This was really fun and solid Witcher novel. I really enjoyed Geralt's traveling companion in this volume compared to the last volume. It had all the quips I've come to love, and the banter between the Witcher and the Dwarf were aces. But the story was definitely better with Volume 2. I really love that Geralt isn't just a monster hunter that isn't so black and white, he lives in a creepy little grey area. It was solid story with amazing artwork, and it good see Geralt something nice at the end. And the creature feature in this one was really cool to. 5 stars!

This volume shares one of the stories shown in the television series about the Striga. Only in this version Geralt is telling the story to Ciri as they go off to hunt their own. However, despite a few great scenes at the start, it sort of fell apart for me plot wise. About the time Yennifer showed up is when I started to lose interest. Which blows because I'm really like that character, as much as anyone can like Yennifer that is. The artwork was great though! Just honestly the whole section with them going on the side quest with Yennifer didn't feel natural. I put this one volume down more than the other two as well. 3 Stars!

Book Mail

This has been one of the books I've been excited for the first half of 2020. The cover is absolutely amazing, and now that I have it my hands it's a textured cover. Which I love. If I had known I was going to get this so quickly I'd have thrown it onto my June TBR because what's one more book this month.

I'm super exited for this story and cast as well. I've been reading lot young adult fantasy, and I'm ready for something a little more gritty. Something more Adult Fantasy. But, also this sounds like a book a good read on my patio until the wee hours of the morning. So this will probably making it on my July reads.

June TBR

Okay, so I'm being a bit ambitious for June, but with the weather warming up and the patio nearly done. I figure I'll be out their reading more. Even though my state is slowly opening back up, I'm not super keen to be out in public more than I need to be. I'm more than content to chill on the patio. Also, I'm probably about to be bus bound again. Which gives me more time to read. So, with all of that I've been ambitious my TBR this month.

I'm almost finished with the behemoth that is the The Living Dead! It's definitely picked up in a pace now that I've gotten farther into it, and I've gotten attached to characters that I'm honestly worried for, but I have no idea which of these I'll pick up first. Two of them are BINGO books, and the other two I just need to pick up and read!

May Wrap Up

I'm not sure what to say about this month except for Black Lives Matter. That's it, that's the message. Black Lives Matter. I wish my country was better than this, but it isn't. We have a lot of work to do. So one more time for the people the back, BLACK LIVES MATTER. Take care of yourself and take care of others.

Currently Reading: The Living Dead 

At the moment I have no events on the Bookish Whispers schedule. While some of my favorite bookstores have been able to open back up for cubside pick up (woohoo!), there haven't been any event schedule. I haven't come across any virtual event that tickled my fancy. So if anyone knows if any readathos gearing for June drop me a line, maybe I can wiggle a few in between my work schedule.
