To this day, I have never finished Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, but it's a little intimidating. So when I saw Susanna Clark had a novella out, I jumped at the chance to read it. This was oddly cute and sad, and really good! Definitely more winter vibes and spooky, and the illustrations complemented the story as well. I need to find more by Clarke; I really like her writing style.
What in the many levels of hell was this? Did I know this was a serial killer, body horror type of story? Yes, I got the gist of what I was about to dive into. The cover made that very clear. However. HOWEVER! What in the actual, listen? I have no idea what is happening. To the point, I've already put the second volume on hold. Because I need more information, because I thought I knew what was happening, but now I don't. Listen, what the hell?!
