Why I'm Waiting: Because I adore this series! Lady Trent isn't perfect, but she learns from her mistakes and she grows from book to book.  Not to mention I adore the worlds that Marie Brennan creates with each new book.  Plus, Tod Lockwood's artwork is amazing!

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme started by the Broke and the Bookish.  Each week is themed, and the blogger pick their top ten books to fit that theme.  This week: Top Ten Authors We're Dying to Meet!

1. Michael J. Sullivan - I discovered his books at the library and fell in love with his characters and writing style.  The second book in the The Legends of the First Empire series is out this July! At 512 pages it's going to a beast of a book, and I'll be unreachable for an entire weekend.  But, it'll be so worth it!
2. Kim Newman - Again, another library find.  I started with his Anno Dracula series and have just recently moved on to his other books.  All of which I've enjoyed, but I'm excited to see anther Anno Dracula has hit the shelves (and I've just finished it), only to be followed by another in October!
3. Joe Abercrombie - You guessed it, another library find! I loved the First Law Series, despite my feelings about the end.  I liked how gritty and raw it was and how Joe Abercrombie takes no prisoners on who he kills.

1. Kate Locke - I've only read her Immortal Empire series, but I loved it.  The covers are rad and her main character is a badass! She gives no craps and still gets the guy.  I loved this series and would totally pick up anything else that Kate Locke writes.
2. Seth Grahame-Smith - Oh the creator of Henry!  I love his books and his movies.  I always know I'm going enjoy any project he's worked on, and I'm excited to see what his next book project is about!
3. Tony Cliff - I have to thank Goodreads for finding this book.  I won the first book through their giveaway section and fell in love.  Not only is the artwork amazing, but the stories are strong and entertaining. Selim is the absolute best! 

1. JK Rowling - I just really need to thank her for an amazing childhood growing up with series, and for opening the door for me to meet some of best friends through this series.  Without these books they wouldn't be in my life.  So I seriously owe her a thank you!
2. Tamora Pierce - Again, I need thank her for giving me a awesome childhood.  I keep coming back to her books because I have such fond memories reading her books as a kid.  It would be rad to meet on of the authors that made me want to be an author myself.
3. Ian Doescher - Huge thanks to my Grandma for introducing me to Ian Doescher's books.  I love his Star Wars series, and the fact that R2-D2 is the narrator!

1. Alex Grecian - Last, but not least, is Alex Grecian.  I can't remember how I found out about his Scotland Yard series, but I did and I loved them.  It wasn't until after I read The Yard, I realized we shared a home state! I love a good Victorian crime book, and Alex Grecian writes on of my favorite series in the genre!

Why I'm waiting: Because I love Locke Lamora and I'd follow him anywhere.  Scott Lynch created an amazing world with this series.  I guess I can catch up on the series while I wait.

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme started by the Broke and the Bookish that features bloggers Top Ten Books of a set theme.  This week's theme: Books that will Make You Read the Day Away.

1. A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore - Really any book by Christopher Moore will do!  This one however is one of my favorites.
2.  The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch - I could not put this book down!  In fact I've forced a great number of friends to read this because I needed more people I know to love it too!
3.  The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham - There is so much going on this book you cannot put it down for fear you might miss something while you're away (and yes I realize that's not possible seeing as how it's a book!).

1. The Woman in Black by Susan Hill - While very different from the movie, I read this in one night, and then slept with the light on.
2. Red Rising  by Pierce Brown - Pierce Brown never really gives you a chance to stop and take this all in.  It was hard to put down because of that reason.  I had to know what was coming next!
3. NOS4AU by Joe Hill - This book, though... It's so good and so messed up that I couldn't put it down.  Because just when you think it couldn't possibly get any worse, it does.

1. The Last American Vampire by Seth Grahame-Smith - I love Henry! Which is probably why I couldn't put it down. The downside to that was I was in the process of moving when I was reading it.  It made packing rather slow.
2. The New Hunger by Isaac Marion - This is the story of how the characters of Warm Bodies became the characters we see in the first book. So much happened in just a few pages made it hard to walk away from.
3. Age of Myth by Michael J. Sullivan - I always have a hard time putting books by Michael J. Sullivan down.  He stories are so well written and flow so easily across the pages its hard to put it down to do things like eat and laundry.

1. Warlock Holmes: A Study in Brimstone by G.S. Denning - This book was hilarious, and I loved G.S Denning's supernatural spin one of my favorites series.  Honestly he had me with Greggson being an Ogre!

Why I'm Waiting: I adore books like this.  The ones that poke a bit a fun at history, and make it rather fun to read about.  I have a horde of Ian Mortimer books on my shelf that I need to read.

Back to normal this week with a new Top Ten Tuesday! This week it's all about our Spring TBR! I decided to go with ten books I'm excited to see released this spring.

1. Pyromantic by Lish McBride - I absolutly loved her Necromancer series.
2. Spellslinger by Sebastien de Castell - The premise of this sounds so good!
3. Lucifer Vol 2  by Holly Black - Really liked Holly Black's take on the Sandman Character, and I'm excited for the second volume to be released.

1. Within in the Sanctuary of Wings by Marie Brennan - I absolutly love this series!
2. The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco - The premise sounds really good: Geishas, Necromancers, and demonic beasts.  Sounds right up my alley!
3. If We Were Villains by ML Rio - A murder mystery around a Shakespearean actors.  Yup, I'm in!

1. The Battlemage by Taran Matharu - I'm a book behind in this series, but it's really good. I'm waiting for Battlemage to be released so I can binge read the last two books.
2. The Radium Girls by Kate Moore - So up until I ran across this book I had no idea about these women who, and after doing a bit of research I really need to read this book.  It's one heck of story.
3. Lady Killer Vol 2 by Joelle Jones - I cannot wait until May to pick this series back up.  It's seriously amazing!

1. Dragon Teeth by Michael Crichton - I love Michael Crichton books!  There might of been some fangirling when I saw the released another of his "rediscovered" novels.  In fact I might need an ER rewatch while I wait for May to get here.

February Wrap Up

So I haven't been around much in the last month.  To be honest I had no idea that February was going to look like it did.  I ended up a lot busier than I thought I would.  I celebrated my birthday at the start of the month.  Which was amazing! I got a couple new books to add to the ever growing pile, and I got to see Let the Right One's In performed by the National Theater of Scotland.  It was fantastic and right good evening.  After that my calendar just stayed full during my days off and the occasional evening I wasn't at work.  The latter also threw me off a bit.  My schedule changed around a bit and that threw off my schedule as well.  I've picked up shifts in a different area of the bakery and that's been learning a curve.  However, it seems that I've managed to get the swing of work and having a personal life again.  So hopefully I'm pack to reading, and blogging, a little more actively this month.

Currently Reading: Anno Dracula: 1988

While I had a lot going on on this month, very few were actually book related.  I got a couple of pretty epic books for my birthday.  My mom found me a really good book, and while I was celebrating with a little book shopping I realized I missed the fact that Kim Newman has two new books out this year.  Both of which are in the Anno Dracula series!  It's taken me a month due to exhaustion, but I'm over halfway through the first of the books!

Also the start of the month was the release of Burning World the newest addition to Issac Marion's Warm Bodies series.  Was the best way to spend my birthday!  It was really cool to hear him talk about the series and what was coming for the characters and what he had coming next.  R and Julie are the next book I plan to pick up this month!

This is the second book in the Firebug series.  It follows right after where Firebug left off.  I didn't want to post the whole description from Goodreads, because it gives a bit of how the first book ends away.  So if you haven't read that book, don't read too far into synopsis.  But seriously if you haven't read the first book, do it!! Lish McBride is an hilarious writer and I strongly recommend her to everyone! If that's not enough to convince you.  Were-bunnies! That's all I'm saying!!
