The votes have been counted and the poll has been locked! I've pulled the book from myself and I'm waiting for August 6th to arrive. My plan is to give up Netflix for a week so I can focus on reading this week, and making sure to bring it to work to read during lunch break. So who won? By a landslide:
The Song of Achilles
By: Madeline Miller
378 pages
The legend begins...
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.
Can't wait to see what everyone else is reading tomorrow! Hope it's a wonderful for week full of reading and the books are everything you thought they'd be! You can keep up with my progress here!
